How your file moves

Your document never leaves this tab.

Filoraio runs the merge directly inside your browser using a small WebAssembly engine. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is queued, and you can verify it yourself — open your browser’s DevTools, switch to the Network tab, and watch it stay quiet.

  1. 01

    You pick the files

They’re read into your browser’s memory through a standard file picker.

  2. 02

    Your CPU does the work

The merge runs locally — no request leaves your device while it processes.

  3. 03

    You save the result

The combined PDF lands in your downloads folder, the same way any other download would.

  4. 04

    Network stays asleep

No upload bar, no progress spinner waiting on a server. Works offline once the page is loaded.

Step by step

How to rotate PDF pages in four steps

From drop to download takes seconds, even on a 200-page scan — every page renders as a clickable thumbnail so you can see exactly what you're rotating.

  1. Add your PDF

Drop a PDF on the picker or click to choose one. Every page renders as a thumbnail so you can see at a glance which ones need rotating.

  2. Click any page to rotate it

A click cycles the page 90° clockwise. Click again for 180°, again for 270°, again to reset. The thumbnail flips in real time so the result is obvious before you export.

  3. Rotate in your browser

Press the rotate button. The work runs locally on your device using the underlying PDF engine — nothing is uploaded, nothing is queued on a remote server.

  4. Save the result

A single PDF downloads to your machine with every rotation applied. Page sizes, fonts, bookmarks, and hyperlinks are preserved exactly as they were in the original.

Who it’s for

Who uses Filoraio to rotate PDFs

If you regularly receive PDFs from scanners, phone cameras, or other people's exports, you've felt the pain — half the pages are sideways and you can't read a thing.

  • Legal teams

Fix the upside-down exhibit pages opposing counsel sent over before adding them to the case file.

  • Accountants

Straighten landscape-scanned bank statements so the columns line up when printed alongside portrait ledger pages.

  • Students

Rotate the lecture handouts a classmate scanned at 90° before reading them on a tablet or phone.

  • Realtors

Fix the floor-plan page that came out sideways from the photographer's PDF export so the listing reads cleanly.

  • HR & operations

Rotate signed forms that were scanned upside-down into the personnel file before archiving them.

  • Freelancers

Fix a client-supplied contract scan that's rotated 180° before signing it and sending the executed copy back.

In practice

Real situations this tool solves

Three quick walkthroughs of the exact reasons people search for a way to rotate a PDF.

A scanner that flipped the wrong pages

Your office scanner produced a 30-page bundle, but pages 14-21 came out at 90° because the originals were fed in landscape. Open the PDF, click each affected page once to rotate it back to upright, and download a clean document — no need to rescan.

An entire PDF rotated 180° from a phone scan

A colleague scanned a contract with their phone but didn't notice the camera was upside-down. Drop the file in, click "Rotate all 180°", and the whole document flips right-way-up in one move.

A presentation with mixed orientations

Someone exported a slide deck with a couple of landscape charts in the middle of an otherwise portrait document. Rotate just those slides 90° so they print and read correctly inline with the rest of the deck.

Receipts scanned upside-down

You batch-scanned a year of expense receipts and a few came out flipped. Spot them in the thumbnail grid, click to fix, and you have a clean PDF ready to send to your accountant.

Pro tips

Tips for cleaner PDF rotations

Four small habits that turn a quick rotation into a perfect one — especially when the source PDF is a multi-page scan.

  • Rotate before you merge, not after

If a scan came out sideways, fix it before adding it to a larger merged PDF. Rotating after merging means picking the right pages out of a longer document, which is more error-prone than handling each source file on its own.

  • Use "Rotate all" first, then fine-tune

If most of your pages need the same rotation, apply it to all in one click — then click the few exceptions individually to bring them back. That's faster than rotating each page from scratch.

  • Watch the colored corner badge

A rotated page shows a small red badge in the top-right of its thumbnail with the current rotation angle. Glance at it before exporting to confirm you haven't double-rotated something by accident.

  • Reset is one click away

If your rotations get away from you, the "Reset rotations" button clears every page back to 0° without losing the file. Faster than re-uploading and starting fresh.

Questions

Common questions about Rotate PDF

Quick answers to the things people ask most often before using this tool.

Is this PDF rotator really free, with no signup?

Yes. There's no account, trial, daily quota, or watermark on the output. Filoraio is supported by ads on the page — never on your file. You can rotate as many PDFs as you want.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The rotation runs entirely in your browser using a small WebAssembly library. Your PDF is read, processed, and saved without ever leaving the tab — which is why this works on confidential and offline files.

Can I rotate just one page of a PDF?

Yes. Click any single page thumbnail in the grid and it rotates 90° clockwise. The rest of the document stays exactly as it was. Click the same page again for 180°, again for 270°, again to reset.

How do I rotate every page at once?

Use the "Rotate all 90°", "Rotate all 180°", or "Rotate all 90° CCW" buttons above the page grid. Each one applies the rotation on top of whatever each page is already at — so a page already rotated 90° goes to 180° instead of starting over.

Does this rotate the file permanently or just the view?

Permanently. The exported PDF has the new rotation baked into the file itself — anyone opening it in any viewer (Acrobat, Preview, browser, mobile) sees the pages in their corrected orientation, not the original.

Will my bookmarks, hyperlinks, or form fields survive?

Yes. Filoraio rotates pages in place without rebuilding the document structure, so bookmarks, named destinations, internal cross-references, external URLs, and AcroForm fields are all preserved exactly as they were in the source.

Why does my page look rotated in Preview but not in the saved file?

Some PDF viewers (notably Apple Preview) can rotate pages for *display* without saving the rotation back to the file. If you used "Rotate Right" in Preview and the file still opens flipped elsewhere, you saw a view-only rotation. Filoraio writes the rotation into the PDF itself so every viewer renders it correctly.

Can I rotate a password-protected PDF?

Unlock the file first. Our Unlock PDF tool clears owner restrictions in one drop and decrypts password-protected files on your device when you type the password — then rotate the unlocked output here. We don't bypass passwords you don't have.

Does rotating a PDF change its file size?

Barely. Rotation only writes a small angle value into each page's metadata — the actual page content (text, images, vectors) isn't re-rendered. The output is usually within a few hundred bytes of the original input.

How do I rotate a PDF on an iPhone or iPad?

Open this page in Safari, tap the drop area, pick a PDF from the Files app, then tap any page thumbnail to rotate it. The corrected PDF downloads directly to Files — no app store install, no Apple ID, no third-party app.

How do I rotate a PDF on a Mac without Preview?

Open this page in Safari or Chrome, drop the PDF, click the pages that need rotation, then download. Preview can rotate too, but its rotation is sometimes display-only — Filoraio's rotation is written into the file itself so it persists in every viewer.

Can I undo a rotation if I clicked the wrong page?

Yes. Each click cycles 0° → 90° → 180° → 270° → 0°, so four clicks on the same page brings it back to the original. Or use the "Reset rotations" button to clear every page back to 0° in one move.

Why is my downloaded PDF still showing the wrong orientation?

Two things to check. First, confirm you actually clicked the rotate button (the action bar should briefly show "Rotating…"). Second, your viewer may be cached on the old version — close and reopen the file. If it still looks wrong, try opening it in a different viewer to rule out display caching.

How many pages can I rotate in one go?

There's no hard cap. Filoraio renders thumbnails progressively, so even a 500-page scan stays responsive — you can start clicking pages while the rest of the thumbnails are still loading. The only practical limit is your device's available memory.
